End of Lease Cleaning
An end of lease cleaning on a typical three-bedroom apartment usually costs between forty and two hundred dollars, but the cleaner may charge more or less depending on the type of job. Also called vacate cleanings and bond cleanings, this kind of cleaning is often far more affordable than the average cleaning job for a house, because it's usually less time-consuming and doesn't require you to move out and relocate. This is usually the job of a maid service and can also be performed at the end of a lease, when the tenant is moving out or when moving in would be too big of a change.
You will need to have the home ready to start the final cleaning job in advance, either by cleaning it thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies, or by putting down an absorbent sheet so you can gather everything that needs to go under the sheet and get rid of any extra garbage. Be sure that the entire room has been cleaned thoroughly before the last step begins, as it could cause injury if a dust or bug covered room hasn't been cleaned. If you are doing bond cleaning, be sure to remove all furniture and other items from the area, as you may be able to have the area cleaned again after you remove the items, but it may take a longer amount of time than the rest of the cleaning process, depending on the size and amount of furniture.
Once you have the place completely cleared out, be sure to place all the furniture back in the bedroom. Vacate cleaning can take anywhere from a few hours to several days, depending on the amount of furniture and what needs to be cleaned. There should be no clutter inside the bedroom, which will prevent additional problems from occurring. Also, you don't want to leave behind items such as couches, tables, and dressers, which could cause damage to a new place, so be sure to give them the opportunity to dry on their own before getting rid of them.
For bond cleaning, the cleaning supplies will not be included with the cleaning supplies, so make sure you're prepared when you arrive. The equipment needed is a vacuum cleaner, cloth, paper towels, and disinfectant spray, but you can save money by purchasing them at the store that supplies the cleaning supplies for your job.
Vacuuming the beds is one of the first steps in the end of lease cleaning process. After the bed has been vacuumed, be sure to use the disinfectant spray to disinfect the mattresses. Make sure to use a very small amount, as excess liquid could cause harm to bedding and furniture. If you do this right, the bed cleaning should be quick and easy, though it will take longer to clean the floors and carpet if you don't use the disinfectant properly.
Carpets are another area to clean up, just make sure you get into the bedrooms and clean the flooring as well. Many people will forget about this step, but the carpet can be damaged if you don't take care of it. Many times the dirt that is allowed to stay on the carpet because of normal use of the house may cause a stain to appear and this is when you need to use the steam cleaner on the carpet to remove the stain.
Once you have finished with these two areas, you'll need to focus on removing the stains on the walls, which includes removing the small and large stains, along with mildew and pet odor. If you can't reach them on your own, you can hire a professional to do this task to help you finish the job quickly. Some of the stains can be cleaned with water alone, but others will require some type of chemical to make them disappear.
If you purchase all of the cleaning supplies before starting the cleaning process, you'll be able to get a great job completed quickly and efficiently. Just keep in mind to follow the directions on the cleaning supplies package exactly, especially if you choose to use them.
